In addition to Account Settings which lets you set up your branding and preferences, Model settings allows you to change how the system functions from a more technical perspective.

Once you log in to your account, hover over the gear icon in the top right corner of your screen. Click on the “Model Settings” button to get to Model Settings. Please note that for some users you may adjust your settings at the account level as well as at the organizational level. The preset is “My Account”, however if you would like to switch, simply click on the drop-down menu and select “My Organization”. You will find six different tabs on this page, “Proxy Mappings”, “Custom Benchmarks”, “Custom Models”, Buy List”, Default Scenarios”, and “Backfill Symbols”.

Proxy Mappings

You may find that your investment is not recognized by the HiddenLevers toolkit. If this is the case, then you can map it to a proxy of your choice to include it into the HiddenLevers analysis.

Custom Benchmarks

HiddenLevers assigns a default benchmark to each portfolio/model based on its allocation. If you wish to use a different benchmark, you may insert a custom one by typing the name of the portfolio you want to use in the box and clicking save. If you later wish to remove the portfolio, simply delete the name of the portfolio in the specific box and click save. Clicking on the blue benchmark in the right column will take you to that benchmark's Risk Profile.

Custom Models

The Custom Models tab allows you to create one model per client category (5 models total). This is useful if you want to automatically place clients/prospects in certain models based on the Risk Tolerance category. To set a new model, click the blue "Edit" button next to each category. Here, you can assign 100% to a single model, or blend across several options to create a custom allocation. Hit “Save Custom Model” when you are done. Repeat the same step for all categories.

Buy List

If you use the Hedging Wizard or Correlation Screener, then you can upload a buy list to limit the number of investments that each screener searches through to find matches. So, instead of looking through the entire universe of investible assets when using the Hedging Wizard, the system will only choose from your uploaded buy list.

Default Scenarios

The Default Scenarios tab will redirect you to a new page where you can customize default scenarios. These default scenarios will appear when creating a proposal for example, under the “Scenarios to Run” box. The Default Scenarios are also what determine your Risk and Expected Return (Red/Green arrow) on the Risk Profile. You have the option of changing the scenarios that appear by clicking on “Change Scenarios”. Make sure you click the blue “Submit” button in order to save the scenarios. In addition to selecting the scenarios included, you can also adjust the relative probability of each one. This will determine how much influence the scenario outcome has when calculating a portfolio's expected return.

Backfill Symbols

If your asset happens to have very little history, you may backfill it with another. For example, you want to backfill a mutual fund's R share with its A share data. Simply type the name of the asset you would like to backfill in the left column and the name of the asset you wish to backfill it with in the right column. Don’t forget to click the blue “Submit” button so save your work.

Note: Backfill symbols can take up to 60 seconds to complete. Wait for spinning circle to disappear.
